Windows 7 – Remove the “Send Feedback” button from windows using the registry editor

Although its a nice initiative from Microsoft which helps IE11 users in providing their valuable feedback to IE team quickly and easily, but the smiley button might become annoying for some IE users. I have received requests from many AskVG readers in past to find a way to get rid of this or all four toolbar buttons from Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 10. Actually Microsoft should have provided a built-in option to customize the toolbar in IE11 and removing desired buttons from the toolbar using a context menu.

Starting in version 2203, the feedback button is displayed in additional console locations. You can also use the keyboard shortcuts for Send a smile and Send a frown from more locations in the console.

Windows 7 – Remove the “Send Feedback” button from windows

Starting in Configuration Manager 2111, when you Report error to Microsoft the error information included with the feedback can't be altered or removed. Wizards and some property pages also include an icon to provide feedback allowing you to quickly send feedback right from your current activity.

Starting in version 2107, error messages include a link to Report error to Microsoft. This action opens the standard send a frown window to provide feedback. It automatically includes details about the user interface and the error to better help Microsoft engineers diagnose the error. Aside from making it easier to send a frown, it also includes the full context of the error message when you share a screenshot.

Include additional files: Select Attach and add log files, which can help Microsoft better understand the issue. To remove all attached files from your feedback, select Clear all. To remove individual files, select the delete icon to the right of the file name.

Some of the data described above may not be collected from your device even if you choose to send Optional diagnostic data. Microsoft minimizes the volume of Optional diagnostic data it collects from all devices by collecting some of the data from only a subset of devices (sample). By running the Diagnostic Data Viewer tool, you can see an icon which indicates whether your device is part of a sample and also which specific data is collected from your device. Instructions for how to download the Diagnostic Data Viewer tool can be found in the Windows settings app under Diagnostics & feedback.

Windows Feedback was one of the earliest new apps in Windows 10. It appeared on October 1, 2014 in the first Insider Preview, build 9841, as a method of providing suggestions for new features in Windows 10, which would not be released until July 29, 2015. Feedback could be sorted by topic and by relevance filters. Any user with a Microsoft Account could use the app. The filters included the number of Upvotes on feedback, feedback that was ranked the most "Trending", and the most recent feedback. It was not possible to directly access an HTML link to feedback from within the app. Windows Feedback did not use standard hamburger menus or back buttons in its design. Instead, the left sidebar featured levels of clickable panels and a custom back button was included in the upper left corner. Because Windows Feedback was created before standard Windows 10 controls had been made, it originally used the infrastructure of a Windows 8 app.

Now save the text document as remove_send_feedback_link.reg.You have to now merge the new file into the registry. For this purpose, double-click the file. You will get a UAC prompt and you have to continue through it to confirm that you want to perform the action. Log-off from your account and then login again.

Those using IE 11 might notice a little smiley face icon in the top-right corner, right next to the Settings gear. This icon serves as a simple way to send feedback to Microsoft about IE, but it sticks out compared to the other flat buttons and you probably don't care to give feedback about IE anyway. To remove it, you can perform a quick Group Policy edit or Registry hack.

One thing they took away from the Windows 10 Snipping Tool was multiple snip windows open at the same time. I used to snip multiple screen snips, opening each and editing them before saving. Now I have to auto save, and re-open them one by one. Much less productive. Microsoft continues to seem to have this issue with moving backwards and forwards at the same time.

To the right of the application's name are four unlabeled buttons. As with the "Show all apps" button, VoiceOver will eventually speak the button's function. The first button is "Back," the second is "Just remove selected app," the third is "Remove all selected apps and all related files," and the fourth is "Browse app for related files." Choose which action you want to take, and a dialogue box will appear presenting the option to remove the checked files. There will be "Yes" and "No" buttons for this action. When applications are being deleted, App Zap will say it is deleting files, but no feedback is given when the task is complete.

Review the files to be deleted before going to the next step. When ready to execute the deletion process, move right to the "Delete Files" button. There will be no audio feedback when the scan is completed. The screen will indicate how many files have been removed and how much space is freed. 2ff7e9595c
